Encrypting Files
1. Encrypting files allows you to create a password-protected .zip file of any files that contain sensitive or personal information. To encrypt your files, begin by running the WinZip Pro software.
2. First, check the [Encrypt] checkbox, then click the [Zip My Files] button
3. Navigate to where your document(s) are located and click and drag to select them. Then click the [Zip] button.
4. Click [OK] if WinZip gives you the following prompt. You may check the checkbox if you do not want to receive the prompt in the future.
5. Enter the password you would like to use to protect the zip file. Note that it must be at least 8 characters long.
6. Enter a name for your new zip file, and then click [Create]
7. Click [OK] if WinZip gives you the following prompt. You may check the checkbox if you do not want to receive the prompt in the future.
8. Exit WinZip Pro. You can now securely distribute the encrypted .zip file by providing the password to authorized users.
Decrypting Files
1. Open the encrypted zip file in WinZip Pro.
2. Click and drag the documents to your destination folder. When prompted, enter the password and click [OK].
