In light of the current global cyber threat environment, CUIT is implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to strengthen user authentication in certain applications. MFA requires that you validate your identity via a separate mechanism before proceeding in your access to a system. In the event that hackers ever obtain stolen usernames and passwords, MFA can prevent hackers from using those stolen credentials to access user accounts for personal information and general access to Columbia's systems.
Use MFA for accessing information in human resources system through the MyColumbia self-service portal. All faculty and staff are required to log in using MFA.
