Please see below in how to set MFA up:
Setting Up Duo
Launch the VPN client – you should be prompted with a dialog window requiring your Username and two set of passwords; if you do not see a dialog window with the above mentioned – proceed with the below instructions:
Type “vpn.cc.columbia.edu” in the field where it had “Columbia VPN”:
After doing so, you should be presented with the dialog window below:
From there
- Click on the following link: https://cuit.columbia.edu/mfa
- Scroll down to: Duo MFA Setup and click on the “set up and test”
- Log in with your UNI credentials
- Choose what type of device you are adding (Android or iPhone device)
- Enter your mobile phone number
- You will need to download the Duo mobile app from the Apple or Google store
- Once you have successfully downloaded and agreed to the conditions, you will need to scan the barcode using your mobile device to complete the Duo process
- Choose the authentication method (recommended would be “Send Push”)
- The Duo app should provide a six digit code
- You will need to insert this six digit code in the “Second Password” field of the VPN client on your computer screen.
Once finished typing in your UNI credentials and the additional six digit code supplied by the Duo app on your mobile device – VPN authentication should be successful and a connection will be established.
